Jahan Nama garden is one of the oldest gardens of Shiraz which located in specific tourist area and among the tomb of Hafez, Hafttanan, the Quran gate, Khajoo ye Kermani, Baba Koohi, National Garden, Cradle of vision, National Library of documents in the east side of Hafez Street, in the northeast of Shiraz.
This garden was very green and flourishing during the reign of al-Muzaffar and Al-Inju, so that were spoken about it serenity and greenery in poems of Hafez. Before Timur Goorakany invasion, this garden was flourishing eventually Like three famous gardens of Shiraz, Eram, Delgosha and Takhte-Qarache, and Timurid historian Ibn Arabshah in his book “Ajayeb al-Maqdour” has called this garden “Zinat al-donya”. (That means Ornament of the world) Jahan Nama garden has became favored, when Timur Goorakany was staying in Shiraz, so that, he established a garden like it in his hometown around Samarkand, and was named “Jahan Nama”. The garden also has great significance in the Safavid era, and it was mentioned in the itinerary of Chardin, but this garden was almost destroyed, after extinction of Safavid dynasty that insecurity encompassed the country. With reign of Karim Khan Zand, this garden has been renovated, and middle mansion has been built. Karim Khan fenced the garden and created beautiful street systems and copious tree planting around the mansion in 1185 AH. After the Zand era and also in the Qajar era, the Jahan Nama garden has been enumerated as one of the prosperous and glorious gardens, and mansion of garden has been receiving guests of the government, In the Jahan Nama garden there are types of cypress trees and old pine, citrus and fruit trees.
In the Jahan Nama garden, there is an octagonal mansion. This mansion has four alcove in four corners of building, and among the alcoves there are two-floor rooms. This mansion has brick facade. Also Inside of this mansion there is an integrated marbled pool. Now this mansion is turned into a museum.
